Clayton Ball Park Sees New Improvements and Renewed Community Activity

The Village of Clayton is excited to announce several new improvements and upcoming activities at Clayton Ball Park as efforts continue to revitalize the park and bring more community events back to the area. One of the newest additions to the park is a brand-new scoreboard, made possible through a partnership between the local Lions Club and the Village of Clayton. The organizations worked together to purchase and install the scoreboard, providing an improved experience for players, families, and spectators attending games at the park.

Additional upgrades were also completed at the shelter house kitchen thanks to a Penny Power Grant awareded by Adams Electric Cooperative. Grant funds were used to purchase new stoves for the kitchen, helping improve the facility for community gatherings, tournaments, and special events held throughout the year. The Village would also like to recognize the hard work and dedication of public works employee Bill Wilson, who has spent countless hours painting, installing new lighting and fans, and making numerous other improvements to the shelter house. His efforts have helped transform the facility and made it look better than ever for the community to enjoy.

This summer, the ACYL will be hosting ball games at the park during the months of May and June. A full concession stand will also be available during scheduled games offering food and refreshments for visitors and families attending events.

Community members looking to use the park for gatherings, parties, or events are reminded that the park can be reserved through the Village Office. A reservation calendar is also available on the website for added convenience. Clayton Ball Park will also continue its tradition of hosting the annual Old Settlers Celebration in August, including the community fireworks display that residents and visitors look forward to each year. Village officials are excited about the renewed activity at the park and look forward to continuing to bring community events, recreation, and family activities back to Clayton Ball Park for everyone to enjoy.
